Coined as a holy grail product by many celebrity makeup artists around the globe the Armani luminous silk foundation is loved by beauty bloggers and beauty enthusiasts equally.
When it comes to foundations I usually do not experiment a lot, I was in search for a satin finish one as matte foundations can dry out even oily skin in cooler conditions. Given the hype and buzz around this product I finally gave it a try.
Description ( from website)
Reveal your inner light. Inspired by charmeuse silk, “The Fabric of Emperors,” this luminous foundation glides on weightlessly for a flawless lit-from-within glow. Using exclusive Micro–fil™ technology to sculpt and brighten, this buildable, medium coverage foundation improves texture and blurs imperfections. Comes in 24 shades to match every unique skin tone.
Having used this foundation for more than a year now, I have tested it in different weather conditions. In cooler temperatures I wore this foundation without any mattifying base and it gave the dewy glowing finish to the fullest without making my skin look oily. While using it in summers I use a mattifying base or primer.
Since it doesn’t feel too heavy can easily be worn as a light base for everyday foundation. Luminous Silk is a medium coverage foundation, for high coverage build it up in layers. It gives a semi-matte finish. It will surely blur dark spots but to hide them a concealer is must underneath. It lasts for about 6-7 hours without fading, but I do have to powder my t-zone once. On oily skins it might begin to look and feel oily after the 5 hr mark.
Luminous Silk photographs like a dream. The fact that it contains no spf which means no flashback perfect for photography one reason it’s a favourite of makeup artists, but needs a sunscreen underneath in case of daily usage.
The packaging is on point, heavy frosted glass bottle with a sleek black lid with the Armani logo. It comes with a pump dispenser which dispenses just the right amount of product without leading any wastage.
Availability of this foundation is an issue as it’s not sold in India. I mostly pick it up while travelling, once while I was in Europe I purchased it from a Douglas store in Salzburg, other from Sephora, Dubai Mall.
As you can see I already have a backup bottle this foundation has secured a permanent place in my makeup vanity.
