Dress – Zara | Shoes – Adidas Originals | Bag – Prada
An easy button down shirt has been my most reliable piece of clothing over the years. Plain or printed whatever style they come in, there is always a permanent place for buttoned shirts in my wardrobe. Seeing as how shirtdresses are longer versions of the same old button downs they have ended up being another wardrobe essential for me.
I have been experimenting a lot with shirts and shirt-dresses recently. In a previous post (check here) I had opted for a short sleeve lightweight denim shirt dress. This time I went for a bright printed long sleeved one. For printed dresses like these it just takes a change of shoes to make the dress work in different set ups. Print mixing can be a tricky fashion feat, but it’s a great way to showcase your styling skills. If you find print mixing in outfits overwhelming then a subtle way to try this style is mixing prints through accessories or footwear. As sneakers are everywhere now being novel is the cue. To step up the game opt for fancy patterns and styles like metallic, leopard prints, bold colors..etc.
About this look, to vanquish these gloomy monsoon blues I prefer bright hues and are the most effective pick-me-up on a dark gloomy day. For some print clashing I opted for these leopard print sneakers and finishing off the look with a bold pout and my trusty black saffiano.
