This quarantine period has certainly given me more time to concentrate on my skincare needs. With no reason to step out of the house my skin is enjoying this makeup free period. Makeup or No makeup I follow a strict skincare regimen as per my skin requirements. Keep on reading to know which products are in my summer skincare routine.
Throughout my teens I have suffered with acne issues and they still continue to torment me, not as much as it did in my teens and early twenties.
Whether you have troubled skin or not a proper routine of double cleansing, toning, moisturising, exfoliating, masking is a must and so is additon of right serums to your routine.
Skincare routine change with age in my teens and early twenties my skincare routine consisted of what my dermatologist recommended cetaphil cleansers, topical solutions for acne and use of clay masks.
In my late twenties my skincare regime look a lot different with a different AM and PM routine. And I find myself more inclined towards clean beauty and mindful of what are the ingredients in my skincare products.
Double cleansing is an extremely important step in my skincare routine. Removing you makeup with an oil base cleanser helps in throughly removing makeup from your skin and following this up with a foam based cleanser or face wash helps in removing any residual makeup left behind. My current favourite cleansers are Ranavat Botanics cream cleanser, Clinique take the Day off Clean Balm, The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser.
For my exfoliation routine I have been using the Enzyme Glow from Wishful, Huda Kattan’s skincare line. It’s formulated with pineapple and papaya enzymes, BHAs and AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids) to remove dead skin, reduce dark spots and brighten your overall complexion.
Including toners in my routine is really important especially is you can include a AHA BHA toner in your routine. Right now I use the Belif Toner but I am still in search of the perfect toner for my skin and as soon as I find one you guys will be the first one to know
In my AM routine I use a Vitamin C serum and right now I am experimenting with a couple of Vit C serums. The Inkey list products have gained quiet a name given their genuine appeal and straight forwardness. I am currently using the Vitamin C Serum and Salicylic Acid Cleanser from THE INKEY LIST and stay tuned for a review of these.
Ever since I have been introduced to BELIF moisturisers when they launched in India sometime back I have been hooked to their products. For the cooler months I like using the True Cream Moisturising Bomb and for summer and rainy months I use the True Cream Aqua Bomb.
Honestly I am not much into face mists but the Beauty Elixir from Caudalie is something I like to keep handy for travels or just when I am stepping out on a hot sunny day. Read my full review if my Caudalie favourites
For masking I have been using a few, the Caudalie Glycolic mask, pink clay mask, a detox jeju volcanic lava mask.
The most important of all an SPF, suncreen, sunblock whichever you prefer. There are a couple of sunscreens which I use Belief, Dermalogica, Kiehl’s..etc. During my travels when I am on a leisure vacation hence will end up spending more time outdoors I carry another sunblock which is suitable for athletes.
For my PM routine I am currently experimenting with a couple of serums which I’ll be reviewing soon. But a serum and a facial oil are important in you right routine. I skip the facial oil but if you have dry or mature skin they you can certainly add one to your routine.
I have recently started using sleeping masks. I like the Summer Fridays Jet lag mask works as an overnight mask, moisturiser primer Belief overnight mask is also a good one.
The Laneige Lip Sleeping mask is hands down the best lip care product out there.
The increased frequency of washing hands makes my hand a little dry for which I use my trust Aesop hand cream.
For Body care I rely on my all time favourite Sol De Janeiro Brazilian BUM BUM cream. The delicious coconut scented Body cream absorbs quickly and makes you skin soft.
