Rahul Misra exhibited his Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection at FHMC PARIS FASHION WEEK. The show was held at the Palais de Tokyo.
Rahul Misra describing his collection quotes “ The idea of living in a constant transit where our habitat transforms from a concrete box to a little nook woth a flower patch reflects the reality of modern living. We are surrounded by buildings stemming out from the soil, reaching the skies enlivened by human ambition amd drawing resources from the ground – mirroring the growth of a plant. We have attempted to observe both of these entities and translate them in a tangible way through the clothes.”
The modernity in his embroidery work is what one will find intriguing. The collection ranging from glam pieces fit the most formal of occasions to something I would imagine myself wearing on my summer vacation on an exotic location. From co-ords with beautiful intricate hand embroidered 3-d floral appliqués, fluid maxi dresses, cityscape inspired trench. The craftsmanship which is unique to India reflected in the entire collection.
About my look, basically statement pieces rule the street style runways and for this show given the theme of the show and style of the designer’s work I opted for an elegant look with just the right amount of drama. A mix of vibrant and neutral colors, Statement shoulders and completing the look with this cute Jacquemus bag which ended up being a conversation starter with so many people.
